This artwork conveys the irony of being a parent as a targeted parent living in the ‘topsy-turvy’ world of partial alienation. The visceral love and need for connection with my child can be as elusive as the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland. One day, my child is present to me, and then the next, he is not. I can never pick when that disappearing or disengaged scenario will happen! I am grateful for the gift of serenity I can draw upon, despite the pain in these situations. because of the tools I have from the PA-A program.
